Significance of Hanuman Jayanti
It is said that the worship of Lord Hanuman helps people to be saved from evil and emerge victorious. While this festival is celebrated on different days across the country. Most popularly it is celebrated during Chaitra. It is auspicious to wake up early in the morning on Hanuman Jayanti. It is believed that the Lord was born at the time of sunrise. Devotees read the verses of Ramayana and Mahabharata on this day and worship Lord Hanuman.

The Mythology behind Hanuman Jayanti
Lord Hanuman is popularly known as Pawan-Putra. Often he was also referred to as Pavanputra and Maruti Nandan, the son of the wind god, in some cultures. Hanumanji also goes by the titles Sankatmochan and Dukhbhanjan since it is thought that he helps and guided people in overcoming their difficulties and sorrows. Hanuman was born and brought up by Anjana, an Apsara who had been cursed.

According to mythology, she was freed from the curse after giving birth to Hanuman. It is believed that Anjana and her husband Kesari prayed to Rudra for a child, and under his guidance, Vayu transferred his male energy to Anjana's womb and that is why Hanuman is known as the son of Vayu.

Hanuman devotees often apply vermilion tilak on their heads. There is a story behind this. It is when Lord Hanuman saw Mata Sita applying sindoor on her forehead, he asked her why she did it and she replied that it was for the long life of her husband. Then Lord Hanuman applied vermilion all over his body to ensure the immortality of Lord Rama.

➡ Visit the temple of Hanuman ji on the day of Hanuman Jayanti. Light a lamp in front of God. Recite Hanuman Chalisa 11 times. It is believed that this pleases Lord Hanuman. By doing this one gets rid of Shani dosha.

➡ Offer rose garland to Hanuman ji on the day of Hanuman Jayanti. Take 11 leaves of Peepal on this day. Write the name of Shriram on it. Offer these leaves to Lord Hanuman. Shani Dosh is therefore removed by practicing this method. 

➡ Offer betel leaf to Hanuman ji on Hanuman Jayanti. Sunderkand should also be recited on this day. To remove Shani Dosha, light a mustard oil lamp in front of Hanuman ji before offering Worship. 

➡ On the day of Hanuman Jayanti, sit in front of the idol of Hanuman ji and recite Ramayana and Shri Ram Raksha Stotra. Offer vermilion and jasmine oil to Hanumanji on this day.

➡ Offer 5 rotis made of desi ghee to Hanuman ji. Chant the mantra 'Om Ramdutaya Namah' 108 times while sitting in the Hanuman temple. This helps to make Shani Benefic in your Kundli.  

➡ On the day of Hanuman Jayanti, water the peepal tree's root in the morning to reduce the influence of Shani Dosha.
