GajaKesari Yoga

GajaKesari yoga is one of the most powerful yogas in the history of Vedic Astrology. It is yoga for those born under the energy of both Jupiter and the Moon.

GajaKesari is an abbreviation for "Gaja," which means elephant, and "Kesari," which means lion. Both the elephants are gigantic, dominating, and daring animals. The elephant represents courage, knowledge, and intelligence. A lion represents power and strength.

People with Gajakesari yoga are usually capable, efficient, and have a higher rank in professional life. They are given immense respect in society and, in general, are good speakers. This yoga is formed when a Kendra sthana (1st, 4th, 7th, or 14th house) from the Moon is taken over by Jupiter. It is said that the Gajakesari yoga is most effective when there isn’t any malefic effect or retrogression on Jupiter, and all of this applies to the moon also. So, all in all, Gajakesari is the most effective when the moon and Jupiter are free from any malefic effect and brings abundance to the life of a native.

Your yoga should be strong enough to understand how to use this particular yoga and achieve 100% results in its presence. To know the strength of this yoga, you should notice that it is present in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 9th, and 10th houses and is away from malefic planets, and any planet of it is exalted in its own house.

Important planetary combinations

Keep in mind that the moon shouldn’t be present in the 6th, 8th, and 12th houses for a strong effect.

In Navamsa, the Moon and Jupiter should not fall in signs found in the 6th, 8th, and 12th houses of the main natal birth chart (D-1).

The sun and moon should be at least four houses apart.

The moon should not be present on the Scorpio planet.

Jupiter in Makara Rashi is in its weakest phase. So, GajaKesari Yoga should not be formed in this rashi.

Jupiter or the Moon in Pushkar Navamsa or Bhag will enhance the effects of Gajakesari.

Benefits of Gajakesari Yoga

If a person has this yoga in his/her horoscope, then they are likely to attain success in life. They persist in courage, strength, and power.

They have the qualities of both an elephant (Gaja) and a lion (Kesari). They are powerful in the aspects of vision, intellect, and broader understanding from every angle.

A person with Gajakesari will have good leadership skills and high wisdom.

This yoga is extremely auspicious and those who have this yoga’s presence in their lives achieve dizzying heights.

Why are most people unable to seek the benefits of Gajakesari Yoga?

About 1/4th of the population possesses the presence of GajaKesari Yoga in their horoscope. But to have its auspicious effect, one condition that needs to be kept in mind is that one needs to have Jupiter in the Kendra, that too in Lagna from the position of the Moon.

A strong presence of both Jupiter and the Moon gives prosperity without any expectations. The presence of Jupiter in Sagittarius, Cancer, or Pisces in the 5th position and the 10th house brings wealth and indicates richness.

A debilitated Gajakesari Yoga does not bring much benefit. It is the placement of Jupiter and the moon that holds the most power.

Well, Jupiter and the Moon are together, which means Jupiter is in the Kendra (from the Moon) and is not retrograding. Both the moon and Jupiter are together and are placed in the 4th house.

Another reason why most people are unable to seek the benefits of this is that Jupiter should not have the malefic planets. Here, Mars has a malefic planet that has its 4th aspect on Jupiter. In the presence of Kendradipathi Dosha and malefic aspects, this horoscope will not benefit from Gajakesari yoga.
